Arkansas AIMS offers Online Preparation Courses

Arkansas AIMS (Arkansas Advanced Initiative for Math and Science) is piloting a new online program as a part of the continued efforts to bring the highest quality resources to the AR AIMS schools. Using the provider, Adobe® Connect™ AR AIMS is offering instructional web-based meetings that go beyond screen sharing to offer collaborative, interactive learning opportunities anytime, anywhere, on virtually any device. The online preparation for AR AIMS AP students will enhance learning and better prepare students for the Advanced Placement exams in May.

AR AIMS began the Online Pilot Program with 6 AR AIMS schools: Beebe, Camden-Fairview, Conway, Greenbrier, Lake Hamilton, and Ft Smith Northside. These schools receive notification of the upcoming classes and are able to be the first to register students for the 1-hour live Advanced Placement preparation sessions. These began the week of February 23 and will continue through the first week of May.  The seating limit is 100 for each session.

Up to 15 different sessions are offered each week, Sunday-Thursday evenings in the following classes:

AP Biology

AP Chemistry

AP Environmental Science

AP Physics

AP AB Calculus

AP BC Calculus

AP Statistics

AP English Language and Composition

AP English Literature and Composition

Topics range from Rhetorical Analysis and Synthesis Locavores to Big Theorem and Chi-square Tests to Biochemistry/Macromolecules and Atomic/Nuclear/Periodicity. All major areas are included for the best AP Exam preparation and are selected  and organized by the AR AIMS Content Directors. The experienced presenters are carefully chosen for their talent and expertise in their fields. Students are provided topics, times, specific content information, and presenter names in their invitations to register.

Other AR AIMS schools in Arkansas are offered the opportunity to register students for remaining live seats on a first-come basis but all sessions are recorded and republished to the Arkansas AIMS content library for widespread on-demand access; those recordings are made available for all AR AIMS schools.
