AP SCIENCE Mock Reading Workshop

The AR AIMS Advanced Placement Science Mock Reading Workshop will be held April 3 & 4, 2023. This workshop is for teachers of AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, or AP Physics 1 who wish to gain more experience in scoring student AP exam responses that would qualify for points based on both AP scoring rubrics and the expertise of current AP readers. Participants will work under the leadership of an experienced AP Reader or Question Leader who is currently serving as an AP Reader at the College Board’s national AP Science Readings as well as collaborating with an experienced group of AP teachers in a small group setting.

REGISTRATION FEES: AR AIMS Schools $400 and Non-AR AIMS Schools $500
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: March 30, 2023
LATE REGISTRATION: After March 30, 2023, registration will increase by $25 per participant.
NOTE: Participants who attended the Fall 2022 AR AIMS AP Science Fall Content Conference Workshop will receive a $50 registration discount.
To cancel a registration, participants MUST email Tanya Ruble at tlruble@ualr.edu with participant name and content area. Registrations received after March 30, 2023 are nonrefundable; however, participant substitutions can be made by emailing Tanya Ruble no later than April 1, 2023.
Lunch and snacks will be provided by AR AIMS. Lodging is not provided.
ADE allows AP teachers to receive their 5 year AP “renewal” by attending the AR AIMS Fall AP Workshop AND the Spring Mock Reading Workshop. You must attend both workshops in the same school year for this renewal. (Note: New AP teachers must attend an APSI for their initial endorsement.) This workshop does not provide Pre-AP endorsement.
We will be using the FREE RESPONSE QUESTIONS from 2022 for each Mock Exam. (APES-2022 FRQ Set 1)

FROM THE ADE (Updated July 14, 2020) Recently, a Commissioner’s Memo from ADE, announced that ADE allows AP teachers to receive their 5 year AP “re-certification” by attending the AR AIMS Fall AP Workshop AND the Spring Mock Reading Workshop. You must attend BOTH in the same school year for this AP renewal. (Note: New AP teachers must attend an APSI for their initial endorsement.) This is available for AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, AP Biology, AP Physics, AP Literature, AP Language, AP Statistics and AP Calculus
