What is the Collegiate Success Program?

The Collegiate Success Program consists of learning communities and academic advising. Each learning community consists of linked courses with the same students enrolling in the same courses at sequential times. The purpose of the UALR Collegiate Success Program is to provide at-risk students with the academic foundation they need to successfully matriculate in college-level courses.

How long am I required to participate in the CSP?

You are required to participate in the CSP for one year or two consecutive semesters.

What is a learning community?

A learning community is a variety of approaches that link or cluster classes during a given term that enroll a common cohort of students. UALR uses the linked/paired courses model for its Collegiate Success Programs. A characteristic of this model is two courses for which students co-register.

What universities other than UALR have Collegiate Success Programs?

Many college campuses have similar programs. Some names you might recognize are Florida State University, Indiana University, Louisiana State University, Penn State, UCLA and the University of Central Arkansas.

How long has UALR offered Collegiate Success Programs?

UALR has offered at least one learning community each year since 1997.
