NCA Self-Study

UALR faculty from across campus have worked on the Higher Learning Commission reaccreditation self-study report. The self study process allowed us to step back and take a look at how we’re doing, and provided an opportunity to evaluate our progress on Fast Forward, our strategic plan.

One of the central questions addressed in the reaccreditation self-study report submitted to the Higher Learning Commission is, “How is UALR distinctive?” The answer is the way in which UALR accomplishes its mission, according to Dr. Susan Hoffpauir, who led the self study team.

As a metropolitan university, UALR is committed to educating tomorrow’s global citizens and to dedicating its research and service resources to advance economic prosperity, social and physical well-being, educational development, and cultural vitality in Central Arkansas.

UALR’s mission statement has four equally important components:

  1. to develop the intellect of students,
  2. to discover and disseminate knowledge,
  3. to serve and strengthen society, and
  4. to promote understanding of interdependence.
