Where do I apply for admission?
Apply online at http://apply.ualr.edu
How do I check my admission status?
You can log into your admission application to monitor your current status using the following link, https://apply.ualr.edu. It is important that you select “Returning User”. You will then be prompted to confirm your identity, after which you will have the ability to view your application status. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office. How do I know what documents I need?

How do I get a copy of my GED scores?
Please go to ace.arkansas.gov to request an official copy of scores to be sent.
What information do I need to submit if I am home-schooled?
A home-school transcript of courses taken or GED scores, ACT/SAT scores and immunization records. Other information may be required - once you apply you may review the list of your required documents by logging into your admission application using the following link, https://apply.ualr.edu. It is important that you select “Returning User”. You will then be prompted to confirm your identity, after which you will have the ability to view your application status. Is there a deadline for admission to UALR?
All Freshman/ Freshman-transfer admission applications, transcripts and test scores must be
submitted by
- Spring 2013 - Jan 4, 2013 by 4:00 p.m.
- Summer 1 - May 17, 2013 by 4:00 p.m.
- Summer 2 - May 17, 2013 by 4:00 p.m.
- Summer 4 - June 26, 2013 by 4:00 p.m.
- Fall 2013 - Aug 9, 2013 by 4:00 p.m.
After I’m accepted to UALR, what should I do next?
In order to be advised, you need to submit both your ACT/SAT scores and at least a 7th semester high school transcript to the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid. If you have taken college courses, you will also need to submit transcripts from each school attended to the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid. Academic Advising can be contacted at 501-569-3386. Their office is located on the 3rd floor of the Student Services Center.
Registration
Do I have to see an adviser before I register?
All freshmen must be advised prior to registration. For more information see http://ualr.edu/advising/
When is registration open?

Can I register for classes before I am fully admitted?
- That depends. If you are a freshmen or freshmen transfer you need to meet admission standards to be cleared for registration. For non-freshmen students - yes, as a provisional student you are eligible for registration during the open registration period of each semester.
- Incoming Freshmen and Freshmen Transfer students must submit credentials before they will be cleared for registration. Please review our admission standards.
- Note: You must be fully admitted to a degree-seeking program before receiving any form of financial aid.
Is there a registration deadline?

There will be NO late registration for entering freshmen. For non-freshman students regular registration ends at 4:30 pm on the business day prior to the start of classes.
When do classes begin?

When will I receive my UALR email account?
UALR email accounts are created within 24 hours of acceptance to UALR. For more information, contact IT Services 501-569-3345.
Transfer Credit
If I have taken classes at another university or community college, will I receive credit for these classes if I am admitted to UALR?
Transfer students should submit an official transcript from each institution attended for admission and for transfer credit evaluation to the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid. Only official transcripts will be accepted. Once all transcripts are received our office will forward them to the Office of Records and Registration for review. Can I determine which classes will transfer from my previous university or community college before I apply?

Does UALR accept military credit?

Housing
Are students required to live on campus?
Students receiving UALR academic scholarships are required to live on campus their first year. Beginning in the 2013-2014 academic year, full-time freshmen will be required to live in on campus housing. For more information regarding housing at UALR, please contact our Office of Housing at 501.661.1743 or visit them online at ualr.edu/housing.
How do I apply for on-campus housing?

Orientation
I am an incoming freshman. Am I required to attend orientation?
All incoming freshman are required to attend orientation. For more information see http://ualr.edu/orientation/
I am a transfer student. Am I required to attend orientation?
Transfers students are not required to attend orientation. For more information see http://ualr.edu/orientation/
How do I sign up for orientation?
Once a student has registered for classes, the Office of Campus Life will mail information about orientation dates and an invitation to orientation. You can also visit the Campus Life website by going to ualr.edu/orientation for more information.
Out-of-state and International Students
Where can I get more information on establishing residency in the state of Arkansas for tuition purposes at UALR?
The residency policy and appeal form is available online
Is in-state tuition only granted to students in Arkansas? Are there any exceptions?
Students should refer to the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees Residency Policy for more information. Any student who wishes to have residency reclassified as in-state for tuition purposes must submit the Reclassification for Arkansas Residency for Fee Purposes form and submit all required supporting documents. Residency appeals will be processed in the date order they are received. Residency appeals will NOT be approved retroactively for previous semesters. Students must file the residency appeal for the current or a future term. All documents should be submitted to the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, 2801 South University Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72204. The deadline for Fall and Spring semesters is the census day (11th day of classes) each term. The deadline for Summer term is the census day (5th day of classes). The student will be notified of appeal decision in writing.
Will it be harder for me to be admitted to UALR if I am an out-of-state applicant?
No, out-of-state applicants must meet the same admission criteria as in-state applicants.
