New Arkansan Non-Resident Tuition Award
Eligibility Criteria
Freshmen
- 3.00 cumulative high school GPA
- Minimum 24 ACT composite or equivalent SAT/COMPASS
Undergraduate Transfers
- Minimum 24 transferable hours with a 3.00 cumulative GPA and pursing their first baccalaureate degree
- Transfer students with less than 24 hours must submit official high school transcript and test scores and meet the Freshman eligibility criteria
New Arkansan Non-Resident Tuition Award Value
New freshmen eligible for the NAR tuition award with a GPA of 3.50 or higher AND an ACT score of 26 (or equivalent SAT/COMPASS) are eligible for a tuition award that pays 90% of the difference between the resident and nonresident tuition rate. New freshmen eligible for the NAR tuition award with a GPA of 3.00 or higher AND an ACT score of 24 (or equivalent SAT/COMPASS) are eligible for a tuition award that pays 80% of the difference between the resident and non-resident tuition rate.
Transfer students with a 3.30 or higher cumulative transfer GPA will receive a tuition award that pays 90% of the difference between the resident and non-resident tuition rate. Transfer students with a 3.00 to 3.29 cumulative transfer GPA will receive a tuition award that pays 80% of the difference between the resident and non-resident tuition rate.
Renewal Criteria
All NAR tuition award students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher in order to retain the award. If a student falls below the required GPA they will be required to bring their GPA up in order to reinstate the award for the following semester.
