Out-of-State Student Scholarships

How do I apply?

  • Complete the scholarship application online.
    **Note: The Fall 2012 scholarship deadline has passed. To view scholarship requirements and award amounts for Fall 2012 incoming students: click here. (You will not be able to complete the scholarship application)
  • Complete the Admissions Application online
  • Submit all required admission credentials and required documentation by the established deadlines
New Arkansan Non-Resident Tuition Scholarship Award
  1. Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  2. Be an out-of-state resident from a state contiguous to Arkansas
  3. Accepted for admission as either a first-time freshmen or transfer student
  4. Complete scholarship application
  5. Complete a UALR housing application by May 1st and commit to live on campus and purchase a meal plan
  6. Complete 15 hours per semester/ 30 hours total during fall and spring semesters
  7. Submit a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
  8. First-time freshmen must submit official ACT/SAT scores and have ACT 24 or SAT 1090 (mathematics + critical reading) and submit official 7th semester transcript and have at least a 3.00 cumulative high school GPA or GED score of 600+
  9. Transfer Students must submit official transcripts from all institutions previously attended and have at least a 3.25 transfer GPA and have at least 45 transferable college hours
  10. Fall priority deadline is December 1st and final deadline February 1st
Economic Impact Scholarship
  1. Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  2. Be an out-of-state resident
  3. Accepted for admission
  4. Freshmen must submit official ACT scores and have at least a 24 composite or SAT of at least 1090**
  5. Freshmen must live on campus and purchase a meal plan
  6. Transfer students must submit official transcripts from institutions previously attended and have at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA
  7. Enroll in one of the eligible fields of study
