Scholarship recipients who initially received their award PRIOR to Fall 2011

Scholarship Enrollment and Renewal Requirements

  • Scholarship recipients must enroll in at least 12 credit hours each semester, and complete a total of 24 hours each academic year (fall and spring) covered by the scholarship. Graduate students who are receiving the International Award must enroll in 9 hour each semester, and complete a total of 18 hours each academic year.
  • Students must maintain a 3.25 cumulative GPA each academic year. Freshman Award recipients must maintain a 2.00 cumulative GPA each academic year. International Award recipients must maintain a 2.00 cumulative grade point average and earn regular satisfactory academic progress at the end of each spring semester. Graduate students who are receiving the International Award must enroll in 9 hour each semester, and complete a total of 18 hours each academic year.
  • The scholarship will pay for a total of four academic years (excluding summer terms) if renewal requirements are met. Scholarships can only be used for undergraduate coursework required for the first bachelor’s degree, with the exception of the Economic Impact Scholarship and International Award. Shelby Breedlove scholarship will pay for a total of two academic years (excluding summer terms) if renewal requirements are met. International Award will pay for a total of 8 semesters if renewal requirements are met at the end of each academic year (summer terms included).

Scholarship recipients who initially received their award BEGINNING Fall 2011 and forward

Scholarship Enrollment and Renewal Requirements

  • Scholarship recipients must enroll in at least 15 credit hours each semester, and complete a total of 30 hours each academic year (fall and spring) covered by the scholarship. Graduate students who are receiving the International Award must enroll in 9 hour each semester, and complete a total of 18 hours each academic year.
  • First-time freshmen may take 12 hours their first fall semester and 15 hours every semester after that, first year total during fall and spring semesters can be 27 hours.
  • Students must maintain a 3.00 cumulative GPA each academic year. Freshman Award recipients must maintain a 2.00 cumulative GPA each academic year. International Award recipients must maintain a 2.00 cumulative grade point average and earn regular satisfactory academic progress at the end of each spring semester. Graduate students receiving the International Award must maintain a 3.00 cumulative GPA each academic year.
  • Entering freshmen scholarship recipients must enroll, attend, and pass all of the required developmental courses required within their first 30 hours to obtain scholarship renewal.
  • The scholarship will pay for a total of four academic years (excluding summer terms) if renewal requirements are met. Scholarships can only be used for undergraduate coursework required for the first bachelor’s degree, with the exception of the Economic Impact Scholarship and International Award. The Shelby Breedlove Scholarship will pay for a total of two academic years (excluding summer terms) if renewal requirements are met. International Award will pay for a total of 8 semesters if renewal requirements are met at the end of each academic year (summer terms included).

Notes:

  • Scholarships may require additional obligations to be renewed.
  • Be advised that all awards are set for a designated time frame (8 semesters, 4 semesters, etc). If the award received was given mid-year, you may not be eligible for the award during the upcoming spring semester if your award has ended before the term begins.
  • Students must make academic progress toward earning your degree and be in good standing with the University. Students who go on academic probation at semester will lose their award immediately; otherwise, the review takes place at the end of the academic year.
