To Transfer Post 9/11 Education Benefits (TEB) to Dependents
Step 1– Go to the Department of Defense (DoD) transferability application website to determine if your dependents are eligible to receive the transferred benefits: http://www.defense.gov/home/features/2009/0409 gibill/
Step 2– Apply for approval using the Department of Defense (DoD) transferability application website
(non-VA link, Internet Explorer only): www.gibill.va.gov
- Click on VONAPP application
- Complete VA Form 22-1990e (Application for VA Benefits for Post 9/11 Transfer Benefits)
- Print the page confirming submission of application
- Send email to vavets@ualr.edu informing us of the following:
- Type of application completed
- VA Confirmation #
- Term you plan to begin
- UALR ID# or last 4 digits of Social Security Number & Date of Birth
Step 4– Complete a UALR VA Certification Request Form online:
- http://ualr.edu/admissions/VACert.php - Must complete once registration is finalized and must submit by noon on the Early Payment Deadline for the term
- The CRF form allows UALR VA Office to ‘confirm’ your registration and release information to VA Regional Office
Step 5– Once you receive your Certificate of Eligibility (COE) in the mail from the regional office, please forward a copy to the UALR VA Office by email to vavets@ualr.edu or fax to (501) 683-7055

There is a $40 non-refundable application fee.
To apply for Federal Financial Aid:
If you wish to apply for federal assistance (Pell Grant, Stafford Loans, etc.), in addition to your veterans educational benefits, apply on-line at www.fafsa.gov. Use last year’s financial information and UALR School Code 001101.
