Paying for college

Your college education will be one of the most important investments you and your family will make. Financial aid can help you bridge the gap between your own resources and the cost of education. As one of the top college values in the state, UALR is committed to providing a quality education by partnering with all students to put their educational goals within reach.

Most UALR students receive some sort of financial aid, of which there are many types. Aid packages can include a combination of different types of aid:

  • Scholarships – Gift aid with eligibility based on academic achievements, talents, skills, or merit. Academic and private scholarships are available, as is the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship (Arkansas Lottery Scholarship).
  • Grants – Financial aid that the recipient does not have to pay back.
  • Loans – Borrowed money that must be repaid with interest.
  • Work study – Part-time on-campus jobs that allow the student to earn money to help pay for school.

Tuition and fees are subject to change by the Board of Trustees.
