Alpha Sigma Lambda Scholarship Deadline

Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society recognizes the special achievements of adults who accomplish academic excellence while facing competing interests of home and work. The society was established at Northwestern University in 1945-46, and presently has over 200 institutional chapters within the United States. Since receiving its charter in the spring of 1995, the Kappa Nu Chapter at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock has inducted 259 adult students into Alpha Sigma Lambda. For election to membership, a student must satisfy the following criteria:
• A student must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at UALR and have a minimum of 24 graded semester hours, excluding developmental courses. Twenty-four graded semester hours must be earned at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
• At least 12 of a student’s total credits should be earned in the Liberal Arts/Sciences. Accepted transfer courses may be used to meet this requirement.
• Members shall be selected from the highest ten percent of her/his represented classes.
• A student must be 25 years old or older.
• A student initiation fee of $37.50 is required for membership.
Students who meet the criteria will receive a letter inviting them to apply for membership. An initiation ceremony is held every spring. For more information, contact the Adult Student Advocacy office at 569-3370.
