As an urban institution we have an unique opportunity to positively impact the surrounding communities through civic partnerships. Become a partner…
UALR sponsors a Service Fair annually, which is coordinated by the Office of Community Engagement. The Fair is held in September of each year and offers students the opportunity to explore more than 30 service organizations all in one location.
Some of the organizations that have participated include service driven institutions such as Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Arkansas Hospice, and Youth Home and nonprofits such as Lighthouse for the Blind, Big Brother Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity of Saline County, and the Arkansas Foodbank Network.
The University District Partnership is committed to “improving the quality of life for all who live, learn, work and play in the area,” surrounding our urban campus. The UDP works to meet this mission in conjunction with the University District Development Corporation, a private nonprofit development organization formed to develop affordable housing, encourage business development, and make neighborhood improvements within the District. Partners include the neighborhood associations, banks, businesses, churches, city, county, and school districts.
