Academic Advising

E-Advising

Student e-mail advising is available year-round through University College. To qualify for e-advising, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Student Status: Be an undeclared major (not participating in ACT 1014) or be working towards the Associate of Arts in General Studies.
  • GPA Requirement: Have at least a 2.00 semester and cumulative GPA.
  • Developmental Coursework: Have completed all required developmental coursework (i.e. MATH 0300- Elementary Algebra; MATH 0301- Intermediate Algebra; RHET 0310- Composition Fundamentals; and READ 0310- College Reading) with a grade of C or better.
  • Authorization Form: Complete an ‘Authorization for Internet Transmission of Confidential Educational Records Form‘ or have one on file. You will receive a prompt response if the authorization form is already on file. If you have not submitted the Authorization Form, complete it and fax it in, or come by Ross Hall 406 to complete/submit the form.
  • Semester Deadlines: E-advising is available until May 15th for summers I and II, until August 1st for the fall, and until October 30th for the spring.

If you qualify for e-advising, you can direct your e-advising to one of the following advisors:

To be e-advised, you must provide 1) your student I.D. number and 2) the courses you plan to take in your e-mail. The use of your student UALR e-mail account is required for security purposes. Please allow a minimum of 5 business days to process your request. Once your request is approved, your advisor will send an e-mail to your UALR account and clear your advising flag.
