This signature event raises money for UALR student scholarships. Alumni interact with other alumni and preserve UALR’s community spirit by assisting students with their educational expenses.

Alums Salute Crescent City Culture at ‘Taste of New Orleans’
Friends of UALR who “know what it means to miss New Orleans” should mark their calendars for March 17 and prepare to “laissez les bon temps rouler” from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Alumni Association’s annual “Taste of NewOrleans” at the Bailey Alumni and Friends Center at 28th Street and Campus Drive West.
The Happy Tymes Jazz Band will have revelers dancing a “second line” to tables of traditional gumbo and red beans and rice as well as specialties like andouille sausage and creole mustard, crabmeat beignets, muffuletta salad, and bread pudding. Louisiana’s own Abita Beer, Hurricanes and wine also are on the menu.
“We’re bringing a little bit of Bourbon Street to the Bailey Center for an evening of fun and frivolity for a great cause – student scholarships,” said Angela Parker ‘94, who is co-chairing the Taste of New Orleans event with her husband, Dr. David Sink.
