Alumni Association Scholarships
Eligibility
The Alumni Forever Scholarship will be awarded to nine recipients in the amount of $2,500 to be used for tuition only.
The Trojan Collegiate License Plate Scholarship will be awarded to three recipients in the amount of $2,500 to be used for tuition only.
Who is eligible for these Scholarships?
- Rising seniors, on track to graduate in one or two semesters.
- A least a GPA of 2.75 for all hours earned at UALR.
- Must have earned their last 30 hours at UALR.
- Financial need will be strongly considered.
- Have no or minimal scholarship aid.
Alumni Association Book Awards (4 awards of $500 each)
- Non-recipients of the Alumni Forever (3 awards) and the Trojan Collegiate (1 award).
- Will be awarded in order of scores.
The Bailey Family Leadership Scholarship is a $2,500 award covering any educational related expenses.
- Sophomores, juniors, or seniors who have demonstrated leadership on campus and in the community.
- Academic accomplishment will be strongly considered.
- Financial need will be strongly considered.
The E. Grainger and Frances B. Williams Endowed Scholarship ($750)
- A full or part-time student in the College of Business.
- Preference will be given to “middle of the road” sophomore and junior level students with a 2.25 -2.5 GPA or higher.
- Financial need will be strongly considered over academic accomplishment.

- An essay explaining how you plan to use your UALR degree, maximum 1,000 word count.
- A separate statement explaining your financial need.
- A recommendation letter from a UALR professor or staff member.
- A recommendation letter from a person familiar with your character (no family members please).
- A list of specific courses needed to complete your degree.
Following are requirements for The Bailey Family Scholarship:
- A maximum 1,000 word essay that addresses how you
have demonstrated your leadership skills on campus and in
the community. - A separate statement explaining your financial need.
- A recommendation letter from a UALR professor or staff member.
- A recommendation letter from a person familiar with your
character (no family members please). - A list of specific courses needed to complete your degree, by fall and spring semesters.
Following are Requirements for The E. Grainger and Frances B. Williams Endowed Scholarship:
- An essay outlining how you plan to use your UALR degree. Maximum 1,000 word count.
- A recommendation letter from a UALR professor or staff member.
- Recipients shall write a letter of appreciation to the Donors,serving as their official notice of acceptance.
- A separate statement explaining your financial need.

Alumni Association Scholarships
General Instructions
- A separate application must be submitted for each of the following: (a) The Alumni Forever or Trojan Collegiate Scholarships; (b) The Bailey Family Leadership Scholarship; (c) The E. Grainger and Frances B. Williams Endowed Scholarship.
- Your application, and supporting items must be typed, and double spaced.
- Gather your recommendation letters early. Give your professors and character references sufficient time to write about your character, integrity, persistence, and self-discipline.
- Submit your recommendation letters in a sealed envelope with you application.
- Proof read your application and essays.
- Be sure to SIGN YOUR APPLICATION. If not signed, it will not be considered.
FAQs
- When will my application be reviewed? A panel of alumni will review applications during the 2012 Spring Semester.
- Will I be asked to partcipate in an interview*? Yes. If you are a finalist for a Alumni Forever scholarship*, you will receive a phone call to schedule an interview with a panel of alumni.
- How will I be notified of my application status? Letters will be mailed to recipients and those not chosen by June 15, 2012.
- When will scholarships be awarded? Funding is applied to a recipient’s account on the eleventh day of class for Fall and Spring semesters.
- Are Alumni Association Scholarships available to undergraduates only? Yes. Although, the UALR Alumni Association welcomes donations to help establish scholarships for UALR Grad Students. Please call Christian O’Neal (501) 569-3142 for more information.
