How has the UA Little Rock Annual Fund helped you?

“In 2012, I took a position for the state of Arkansas Hospice Department. I started mentoring under a social worker. It grew near and dear to my heart, and that is why I decided to return to school to major in social work. I have two children, 9-year-old Saraya and 5-year-old Rondalyn, and I am a caregiver for my mom, Joyce. I work full time, go to school, and spend my weekends interning at Youth Home, Inc. in Little Rock. I do all of that, and I don’t have a lot of extra money to foot school expenses out of my own pocket. I couldn’t pay all of my tuition, and I thought I would have to drop out the semester I was supposed to graduate. I know without a doubt this semester would not have happened without the Annual Fund. I didn’t know where this money was going to come from. I feel like I had an angel watching over me with the gift from the annual fund.”

How has the UA Little Rock Annual Fund helped you?

“This is my last year of school before I earn my bachelor’s degree in accounting, and I couldn’t afford all of my tuition. My federal student loans and grants were exhausted, because I changed my major from nursing to accounting and had too many credit hours. The Annual Fund alleviated my financial burden. I have a 2-year-old daughter, Glennabell, who comes first. It’s very hard to work, go to school to try to better your life, and be a mom all at the same time. I hope you will donate to the Annual Fund. I didn’t have anybody else who could help me. The Annual Fund helped me pay for my school. Without it, I wouldn’t be in school right now, and I wouldn’t be able to graduate.”
