Local Government Training
Local Government Training
This series offers professional development opportunities for you and your key managers. Participants in the workshops can expect to develop and enhance their public management knowledge, skills and abilities.
The program is designed to meet the management needs of local government through seminars expressly designed to address the challenges of working in today’s public service agencies. Each seminar will be conducted by trainers with professional experience and/or higher education instructional expertise in the field, and knowledge of the demands of local government. Participants will learn and train with other professionals, developing valuable insight into the workings of similar agencies. Through this interaction participants create a critical network that will continue long after the initial workshop experience.
Public managers who successfully complete these and other selected APAC courses develop higher productivity and increased morale helping to establish a motivated workforce while striving to meet and exceed the expectations of their customers-the PUBLIC!
Professional workshops may be developed to your individual needs and requirements. If you are interested in having us design and develop a workshop for you and your staff, or for a professional organization or group, contact Michael Waters, APAC Administrator to discuss the possibilities. Training may be conducted most anywhere in Arkansas.
Regularly scheduled workshops include Planning Commission Training and Board of Zoning Adjustment Training. These are usually offered one to two times per year in various locations throughout the state.
Workshops are presented and/or coordinated by the Arkansas Public Administration Consortium (APAC), in collaboration with the Arkansas Municipal League, the Association of Arkansas Counties, the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service Division of Agricultural Economics and Community Development, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Institute of Government and the Arkansas Chapter of the American Planning Association. APAC is a cooperative program of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Arkansas State University and the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.
Participants in Local Government Training workshops may apply the workshop hours toward meeting requirements for certification as Arkansas Governmental Manager (AGM) and Certified Public Manager® (CPM). Contact APAC for more information.
Participation may also be eligible for continuing credits for most organizations.
Registration must be received ONE WEEK PRIOR to each training workshop.
