About UALR
Location: UALR is located in Little Rock, Arkansas, the state capital and business center. The University is close to internship, employment, cultural, and recreational opportunities - such as sporting events at ALLTEL Arena, excellent hiking, fishing, biking, and other outdoor activities. Also near UALR is the River Market, with its restaurants, museums, shops, loft apartments, and Farmers’ Market. The River Market offers exciting nightlife options, including live bands, Arkansas Diamonds arena football, and concerts in the Riverfest Amphitheatre, central Arkansas’ premier outdoor concert venue.
Campus: The UALR campus spans 170 acres located in urban Little Rock and is comprised of forty-five buildings, many of them state-of-the-art. The library contains over 400,000 volumes, 700,000 microfilm items, 8,300 audiovisual forms and CDs, and subscribes to 2,625 periodicals. Computerized library services include card catalog, inter library loan, and database searching. Special learning facilities include a learning resource center, art galleries, radio station, television station, Cyber Café, a wireless network that is being expanded to the rest of the campus, and speech and hearing clinic.
