  • To set up an advising appointment, please call the English department at (501) 569-3161
  • Please figure out a tentative schedule before you arrive for your advising appointment

If you are a recently transferred student, please read the Transfer Checklist

Online advising will be possible for students who meet certain criteria (and only for those students)

To be advised online, you must

    • be a declared English Major, English Major with a Creative Writing Emphasis, or an English-Secondary Education Major
    • already know what you want to take (this is important)
    • not be a Cooper Honors scholar (they must be advised, in person, by Dr. Paul Yoder)
    • not be new to the English program or the University
    • not have significant transfer issues

There are no exceptions to these restrictions.

  • If you meet these criteria and are an English Major, click here for the appropriate advising form
  • If you meet these criteria and are an English Major with a Creative Writing Emphasis, click here for the appropriate advising form
  • If you meet these criteria and are an English-Secondary Education Major, click here for the appropriate advising form
  • If you do not meet these criteria, please contact the English Department to set up an advising appointment (569-3161)

In order to plan your schedule, you should review the degree requirement pages and the English Department’s course listings:
