Programs of Study
A major in Spanish (BA degree) consists of 30 credit hours above the 1000 level. A minor in Spanish consists of 21 credit hours above the 1000 level. Students are strongly encouraged to take SPAN 3301 Contextualized Spanish Grammar immediately following SPAN 2311. SPAN 3301 will count toward the 21 required credits at the 3000/4000 level (see below).

*Students who have studied Spanish prior to entering UALR should take the placement test (SCAPE) to determine their level (call Testing Services, 569 3198). The 6 hours of SPAN 1311 + 1312 are not required for students who test into 2311.
