The Evisions Software Suite; Argos, IntelleCheck, FormFusion, and DataMasque, has been upgraded to new hardware. The URL is now evisions.ualr.edu, please change your bookmarks or shortcuts. If you use any address other than this or in addition to this you may not go to the correct page.

The Evisions suite requires Internet Explorer. Evisions is however planning to upgrade their products for use with other browsers in the near future.

After you navigate to the Evisions welcome screen you may be prompted to install an ActiveX Control. This safe installation is needed for the software to function. The instructions for the installation are provided on the Evisions welcome page. Following the installation you will need to add evisions.ualr.edu to your trusted sites. The instructions are listed below:

• Under the tools, internet options, click the tab ’security’.
• Click trusted sites.
• Click the button that has ’sites’ on it.
• Click the ‘add’ button.
• Close this window with the ‘close’ button and ‘ok’ until they are all closed.
• You may need to restart Internet Explorer.
• Now you can Login using your Net ID and Net ID password.

In preparation for the upgrade to ImageNow version 6.6 next month, please find updated documentation under the Training section of the ImageNow page. ImageNow User Getting Started Guide version 6.6.x describes the overall concept of ImageNow and WebNow. It also explains step-by-step procedures of common functions a user may need to perform. What’s New, Tasks Getting Started Guide and ImageNow Views Getting Started Guide provide an overview of new products, features, and product enhancements in version 6.6. Please review these documents so you will know what to expect after the upgrade.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE:  Your Username will be replaced with your NetID during the day on Thursday, July 2.  If you try to log in with your Username and do not have success, then you should log in with your NetID and password.  All users will be changed on July 2.    If you have any problems, please contact Trina Thrapp at tdthrapp@ualr.edu.

If you do not know your NetID or your password, you can log into BOSS to check and/or change your password following the steps below:

Log into BOSS
Select the section or tab for “Personal Information”
Select “View Usernames or Change Passwords on UALR Computing Systems”
You will see the list of all of your Usernames for campus systems.
Under the 2nd column of “System,” look for “NetID”
The associated value under column “Username” will be your NetID

If you do not know your password or would like to change your password, continue with the following steps:

Select the box at the end of the “NetID” row under “Change Password”
Under the list of accounts, type in your new password in the boxes labeled “New Password” and “Confirm Password.”
Select the button “Change Passwords on Selected Systems” to save your changes.

Attention all ARGOS Users:

The ARGOS server has recently been upgraded to the lates version available, Version 3.1. It has been received very well by other campuses and has taken to into account various request among users nationwide. Below is a portion of the email notifying ARGOS users about the Upgrade. The latest release has many features including:

- Application Program Interface (API) allowing seamless integration of your Argos reports to various portals (such as Luminis), web pages and other 3rd party applications (such as AppWorx).
- Administrators can now restore deleted DataBlocks, reports and/or schedules from a Trash Bin.
- Charts are now easier to build with the new Chart Wizard.
- Aligning objects across different bands in a Banded report is now possible.
- Modifications in both Datablock and Banded report can now be undone with the new Undo/Redo feature.

In addition to the new features we’ve put into 3.1 (thanks to the suggestions of the Argos Community), several enhancements to improve stability and performance have also been made.

Just this morning I applied the latest Hotfixes to ARGOS and another small Upgrade to the MAP Configuration tool. The ARGOS hotfix addressed some issues related to Chart interaction with Datablocks, the ability to save Guages and a few more issues related to OLAP and reporting. Attention ARGOS Users:

If you have not already noticed, ARGOS has a new background image. After much awaited todo, the Old Logo was replaced with the New UALR Logo that does contain the same legalese as the old image. Special thanks to Mr. Daniel Spillers for his contribution on creating the new image for the application.

Attention:This weekend the following Hotfixes and Updates were applied to the Evisions Products:

We are pleased to announce that the upgrade to Evisions 3.0 is complete. The new versions are as follows:

• ARGOS:                                       3.0.0.223
• INTELLECHECK:                          3.0.0.329
• MAPS CONFIGURATION:             3.0.0.84
• MAPS SERVER:                            3.0.0.302

Here are some of the features included in the upgrade:

1. Argos now supports interactive ‘Dashboards’ that deliver an intuitive view of your data to enable a more visual understanding of your data.  Graphical ‘scorecards’ with robust drill-down capability make it easier than ever to view Key Performance Indicators (KPI) such as Teacher Retention rates, Cost per Credit Hour, Salary trends, etc.  Please check your license to ensure you own this new option.  If not, just ask us for more information
2. Improved interface elements in Argos make it possible to copy and paste query designs, view and search DataBlock and report definitions, and to email reports with ease.  Don’t forget that Argos 3.0 also includes On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP), which is rapidly becoming the preferred technique for delivering flexible and intuitive data analysis capabilities to users.
3. Reports in Argos have been improved to allow more flexibility.  Report writers can define their own data sorts and can even add additional filtering to the main query.  Banded reports also fully support ‘sub-reports’ which allows Argos to be used for a whole new category of reports.  Users also have additional options for scheduling their reports.
4. A new method of launching MAPS-enabled applications called the “Universal Launcher” gives administrators more flexible deployment options and provides improved security.  MAPS now fully supports the Microsoft Vista operating system.

The latest version of Evisions’ MAPS software is available for download. Version 3.0 has been released and we are planning on upgrading the system Wednesday morning September 19th. There will be some downtime associated with this upgrade but all access to your systems should be restored before noon that same day. If you have any questions please let me know.
