During the first two weeks of the Fall Semester, the Epsilon Pi Chapter of the National Accounting Honorary, Beta Alpha Psi, will be recruiting new members. If you wish to apply for membership, obtain an application from the Accounting Department secretary, from a current member of the fraternity, or from the faculty sponsor, Dr. Watts. What is Beta Alpha Psi?

Beta Alpha Psi is the national accounting honorary and professional fraternity.

Why should I join Beta Alpha Psi?

First, businesses recruiting accounting majors look for Beta Alpha Psi members. Fewer than 300 colleges nationally have chapters of Beta Alpha Psi. (More than 1000 colleges have programs in accounting). Membership serves not only as a measure of achievement, but also as an expression of interest in the accounting profession. Second, you can learn things about the field of accounting which we do not discuss in the classroom. In our meetings, we have programs presented by professionals working in a wide range of areas which provide our students with information about the "real world."

All UALR students are encouraged to attend and participate in our activities. Some students who didn't meet pledge criteria have found good jobs directly as a result of participating.
