- Preference will be given to graduate students or undergraduate students who have completed 60 hours or more with 18 hours concentrated in Biology.
- Applicants must have at least a 2.0 GPA overall and a 2.5 GPA in Biology.
- Emphasis will be given to a student’s potential and financial need (strongly considered).

Dr. Thomas & Debbie Lynch Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full or part time student majoring in Biology. Academic accomplishment will be strongly considered. All other criteria being equal, preference will be given to those demonstrating greatest financial need. Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Deadline for applying is March 1st.
The Academic Challenge Program provides scholarships to Arkansas residents pursuing a higher education. Funded in large part by the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, the Academic Challenge Scholarship is available to students regardless of their academic status, whether just graduating from high school, currently enrolled in college, enrolling in college for the first time, or re-enrolling after a period of time out of college

ARK LSAMP Program Arkansas Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation aims to increase the number of under-represented minority students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) areas.
COS Leadership Scholarship – The recipient shall be a full-time student within any department of the College of Science. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered. Although not specifically required, applicants are strongly urged to provide a letter of support from a faculty member or major department chair who can speak to your academic accomplishments.
Steven L. Mourning Science Scholarship – The recipient shall be a full or part time student seeking a major degree in the field of “science” (i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, or Physics) within the College of Science. Deadline for applying for this scholarship is March 1st.
Tracy L. Thompson Scholarship Program The recipient shall be a full or part-time student majoring in Science or Mathematics and minoring in Secondary Education with the intention of becoming a teacher. Deadline for applying for this scholarship is March 1st.
University Science Scholars Program The University Science Scholars Program is a new scholarship and enrichment program at UALR. It is for outstanding students who have financial need and wish to major in biology, chemistry, and earth science.
