B.S.E. in Middle Childhood Education: Math/Science

MCED Initial Program

The non-traditional certification master of education degree is offered to those with a degree in an area other than education. This program leads to certification in middle childhood education (math, science, language arts, and social studies). Each person’s transcript will be assessed on an individual basis and an individual program will be developed. The master of education degree program enhances the general expertise of middle level educators by providing a more comprehensive understanding of young adolescent learners and of the need for a learning environment that is responsive to students’ developmental needs. In addition, this program provides expertise in teaching field content and pedagogy.
