Holzer Invited as Musical Artist in China

UALR music professor, Linda Holzer, presented a concert of piano masterpieces during her stint as a guest faculty artist at Qingdao University in China last month.

Holzer’s concert included pieces by Scarlatti, Bach, Debussy, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff. It also included a piano arrangement of the famous Chinese folksong “Liang and Zhuo.”

In addition to a piano concert, she presented a lecture, “Benefits of Music Study,” on the multiple kinds of positive impact measured as a result of music study, including cognitive development benefits and the  intellectual, physiological, and emotional impact from music experienced in ceremonial, art music, and utilitarian therapeutic contexts.
