UALR’s Department of Music presents a piano recital by guest artist Jaeyeon Park-Hakutani at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall of the Fine Arts Building.
Park-Hakutani will perform a program consisting of works by Franz Liszt (1811-1886) in recognition of the Franz Liszt Bicentennial.
Admission is free and open to the public.
The program includes 3 Etudes de Concert; Consolation, No. 4 in D-flat Major; Ave Maria d’Arcadelt, , No. 2 in F Major; and 6 Grandes Etudes de Paganini.
Park-Hakutani has performed throughout Korea in her extensive solo performing career, including concerts at Seoul Arts Center, Shinhan Art Hall, and U-Square Kumho Art Hall.
She is an assistant professor of piano at Chosun University in Korea, where she teaches studio piano and piano accompaniment. Park-Hakutani has also won awards at various competitions such as the Wideman Piano Competition and the Osaka International Music Competition. She graduated from Seoul National University and The University of Texas at Austin, where she received her doctorate degree in piano performance.
