The UALR Department of Music presents the 15th annual spring concert of the Community Orchestra at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 12, 2013 in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Building of the UALR campus. This event is free and open to the public.

The 45-member UALR Community Orchestra, under the direction of Associate Professor of Music Victor Ellsworth, will perform works by Shostakovich, Bizet, Milhaud, Stravinsky, and one of Dr. Wallace De Pue, Sr.’s original compositions.
De Pue is a professor emeritus of composition at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, his original composition is titled “Prelude and a Dorian Dance” and is written for orchestra. The Milhaud piece, “Scaramouche,” is a three-movement concerto for alto saxophone and orchestra. This piece will feature Any Wen, Associate Professor of music at UALR, as a soloist.
