Ways to Give
Outright Gifts:
Outright gifts generate the most immediate return from your contributions to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
These gifts can provide support for a variety
of needs such as establishing scholarships or purchasing
equipment. Most outright gifts qualify for substantial
tax benefits, which can significantly reduce the actual
cost of making a gift.
There are many easy, creative and tax-wise ways current gifts can be made to UALR.
- Cash/Check
- Credit Card
- Securities
- Real Estate
- Personal Property
- Life Insurance
Deferred Gifts:
Deferred gifts are a means of achieving charitable and personal financial goals. These types of gifts may include gifts through wills, insurance policies, and retirement plans, or life income gifts such as gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts. Many deferred gifts offer substantial financial and tax saving benefits, often complementing the donor's retirement goals and overall estate plans. For more information on the different types of deferred gifts, please contact the Office of Planned Giving (569-3460).

Giving Opportunities
Annual Gifts
The Office of Annual Giving operates to raise both friends and funds in support of UALR. We seek to build strong relationships with alumni, friends, parents, and businesses encouraging support of our University and providing education about the importance of annual giving in sustaining UALR’s tradition of scholastic excellence and academic innovation.
Gifts made through the Annual Giving Program may be directed to any number of areas within the University including support for specific colleges, departments, programs, and scholarships; faculty and staff development; facilities and equipment upgrades; or to the University's greatest need. Various appeals and initiatives are conducted throughout the year, including direct mailings, student phonathons, an appeal among the faculty and staff, and collaboration with multiple special events held both on and off campus.
For more information about making a gift to your favorite school, program or scholarship contact Daniel McPherson 501-683-7502 or make a gift on-line.
Planned Giving
All gifts are important to UALR, but none leaves a more lasting impression than planned gifts. Consider one made to Little Rock Junior College (LRJC) by Louvenia and George Donaghey nearly 73 years ago. On July 1, 1929, LRJC became the sole beneficiary of the Donaghey Foundation trust. The Donagheys designated $2,000,000 - the largest single donation to an Arkansas institution up to that time - for the use by the college. Initially, the Foundation funded less than $3,000 a year to LRJC - just a dent in the annual operating budget. Today, the Donaghey Foundation's support of the University is on a much grander scale. The University received $5.9 million from the Foundation in the 1990s alone.
For more than seventy years, the Donaghey's planned gift has been benefiting the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. For more information on how your deferred or planned gift could help the University for years to come, contact Mary Boaz in the UALR Office of Planned Giving 569-8738.
Corporate and Foundation Relations
At UALR, the Office of Development through Corporate and Foundation Relations helps develop and strengthen mutually beneficial partnerships with corporations and foundations. Forming partnerships with the private and nonprofit sectors enables the University to strengthen its investment in the future of its students, its research enterprise, and its service to the public, as well as foster opportunities for companies and organizations to have a measurable and positive impact on higher education.
