I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generosity in funding the H.A. Ted Bailey, Jr. and Virginia Mitchell Bailey Scholarship. I am extremely honored to be the recipient of this year's award.

I am a second-year sophomore construction management major in the College of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. I am on the Chancellor's list and Dean's list and have received exemplary marks for my dedication to academic excellence. My grade point average merely reflects my passion for learning and the excitement I possess for my chosen field.

This past summer I held an internship with McCarthy Building Companies in Dallas, Texas where I had the opportunity to be involved in one of the largest commercial construction projects currently active in the state of Texas. I was given an immense amount of responsibility and a real taste of what it will be like to be a front runner for quality work in the construction industry and to be a leader in environmental engineering and design.

Upon completion of my bachelor's degree in construction management, I plan to attend graduate school and receive my master's in business administration. My goal is not only to be as knowledgeable as I can about my trade, but in addition be able to build a new business model in our industry based around the core values of quality, safety, and commitment. This scholarship will contribute greatly to my financial need as I am working my way through school, and it will allow me to focus more on my studies and projects.
