I wanted to again express my deepest regards for your incredible generosity in providing me with the Frank and Emily Parke Scholarship for the second year in a row.
Since my letter from last year, I successfully maintained my 4.0 GPA and plan on graduating with a BA in Anthropology in December. I was nominated and elected as President of the Anthropology Club for the 2008-2009 school year, served as a representative for UALR in a recent commercial, and received a promotion at my full-time job. Apart from my duties at work and my summer school classes, I will be an intern this summer for Toltec Mounds State Park. I wanted to volunteer in an archaeological setting to see if that is an avenue I wish to explore further in graduate school.
My future plans after I graduate will be to enter the MA in Liberal Studies program at UALR with a focus on Anthropology. I plan on taking my first graduate class this fall as I finish up my undergraduate coursework. Afterwards, I look forward to entering a doctoral program out of state and doing as much as I can to further my discipline.
I'm proud of my accomplishments and dedication in college thus far and I sincerely appreciate being a recipient of this scholarship. Money has always been an issue when it came to my college education and I feel very fortunate to have a gift of this caliber bestowed upon me. My stress is greatly alleviated when I no longer need to take out student loans that I will have to pay back. Additionally, having a scholarship makes me want to work even harder to exemplify the values that I know are desired from a scholarship fund like this one.
I want to thank you once again for providing me and the other students at UALR with the Frank and Emily Parke Scholarship. I will never forget such immense generosity.
Yours most sincerely,
Naomi Warren
