Multicultural Academic Awards Celebration

Harambee is a Kenyan tradition of working together for a common purpose. The first Prime Minister, and later first President of Kenya, Jomo Kenyatta adopted “Harambee” to encourage communities to work together to raise funds for all sorts of local projects, pledging that the government would provide their start-up costs. Our mission is to create a community of learners whose achievements and well being are enhanced by diversity, which is valued and celebrated at UALR.  We celebrate Harambee with an academic awards banquet that recognizes minority graduating students whom have achieved academic excellence.
