Membership is a way to become involved in your academic or professional field and to connect with students while you have a good time. Whether you are interested in politics, a certain culture or religious affiliations, there is a group for you. Why get involved? Because there is more to the university experience than the classroom. UALR offers several opportunities to get involved with the program or organization that is right for you.

Where can I get involved? Here are some ways to get involved on campus:

Get involved with over 100+ registered UALR Student Organizations

Volunteer or participate in civic engagement through several groups on campus, such as Fraternities/Sororities, Scholar Programs, Student Government Association…

Do an internship through Cooperative Education or through your degree plan (many degrees require an internship to graduate)

Attend campus events such as shows, concerts, and other programs offered through the Office of Campus Life

Leadership opportunities are available in every organization and program on campus

Learn about various cultural programs and events through International Student Services and Diversity Programs

Become a mentor for non-traditional students

The NTSP Peer Mentoring Program pairs a current non-traditional student with a new or returning non-traditional student for the purpose of providing one-on-one assistance during their transition to the academic environment. Peer mentors draw from their own experience to offer encouragement and support to their mentees and provide a connection to our university. A mentor can impact the mentee’s level of self-confidence, chances for academic success, and perhaps even whether he or she stays in school. Become a NTSP Peer Mentor today and pay it forward to the next non-traditional student.
