A Swahili word that means, “let’s all pull together,” the Harambee Awards Program embodies this principle. Each year the Office of Campus Life invites students, faculty and staff to participate in a program that underscores achievement, family and community. Honorees include not only those matriculating from the University, but also students who have maintained outstanding grade point averages and those with notable campus and community leadership are recognized. Additionally, a faculty or staff member who has significantly affected the lives of UALR students is honored.
