Online and Off-Campus Programs

Online Courses/Programs

Extended Programs supports a broad array of courses and degree programs via the Internet. Online courses use a variety of tools such as streaming video, audio and video conferencing, and our learning management platform (Blackboard).

Students in online courses must have access to a computer with a current web browser and Internet access. Please note that some online instructors may require on-campus exams or proctored testing.
There is no distinction made on student transcripts between online courses and traditional courses. Please visit our website for a complete listing of online programs.

Off-Campus Courses

Some UALR courses are offered at off-campus locations within Central Arkansas. One such location is UALR Benton (see below). Another is the Arkansas Studies Institute located in downtown Little Rock.

UALR Benton Center

UALR offers an Associate of Arts in General Studies degree at the UALR Benton Center. Classes in Benton, Arkansas are administered by Extended Programs and taught by UALR faculty. On-site college entrance testing (COMPASS) is available for students age 21 years and older, as well as individual testing for all students wishing to test out of developmental courses. Students enrolled in classes at the UALR Benton Center have full student privileges at UALR’s main campus. Textbook sales and buy-back services are offered on-site. Academic advising and financial aid assistance are also available, by appointment. Students may pay their tuition and fees at the UALR Benton Center as well as sign up for a deferred payment plan.
