Certificate in Gerontology

Application Procedures

In order to apply to the Gerontology Graduate Program, you must submit a NEW online graduate school application (specify Gerontology Graduate Certificate or Master of Arts degree). In order to contact the graduate school, please call 501-569-8664 or email Janet Darling (jldarling@ualr.edu).

  • All participants must have a bachelor’s degree and be accepted by the Graduate School. Once accepted into the certificate program, students must maintain a 3.0 average to remain in the program.

Step 1: In your internet web browser, go to BOSS from the UALR website.

Step 2: Whether you are a prospective student or current student, click on the third heading in red, Apply for Admission.

  • (returning students will fill out a temporary new application that will link them to their current UALR application)

Step 3: Create a 6 digit pin number, and retype it to verify. Then click LOGIN.

Step 4: On the page titled Select An Application Type, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, select the pull down menu at the bottom and select option P (Graduate Degree Seeking) and hit Continue.

Step 5: On the Apply for Admissions page, select the term you want to apply for and enter the required information in the boxes, and click Fill Out Application.

Step 6: This will take you to the Application Checklist page, where you will see the sections: Name, Personal Information, First Address and Phone, Previous College, and Planned Course of Study.

Step 7: Fill out all necessary information, and in the header for Planned Course of Study, click the drop down box and select Gerontology Certificate Prog or MA Gerontology and hit Continue.
