CATCH-22 Team Wins Governor’s Cup

Students from the UALR College of Business won the 2013 Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup on April 10, 2013. The  Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup is one of the most prestigious business plans in America.

CATCH-22 team members James Rutherford, Ryan Guinee, Robert Grasby, and Brandon Burroughs, along with their team advisor, Richard Crane, won 1st prize in the amount of $25,000 for their undergraduate business plan that will create a liquid organic fertilizer from an undesirable fish that has invaded the Mississippi River Basin.  They also won the Arkansas Farm Bureau Agriculture Award 1st place prize for $6,000.

CATCH-22 is the first team from UALR to win the competition. They will represent UALR at the Tri-State Awards competition in Las Vegas this month and will compete against teams from Arkansas, Nevada, and Oklahoma for $118,000 in prizes.
