Fight for your right to health during UALR-CI’s ‘March to Health and Fitness Family Challenge 2013′!

A jolt of high action energy to start the March off right! Just how far will they go?

On your mark, get set… MARCH TO YOUR HEALTH! Everyone put their best foot forward this past Saturday as we celebrated our health and logged more than 73,000 steps! Five families armed with shiny new purple pedometers exceeded their 10,000 step pledge and advanced 1 step closer to a brand new Nintendo Wii with a Wii Fit bundle!

“I’m having fun!” Lemuel declared as his sister responded, “I’m not even tired!”

A spectacular autumn breeze greeted the sweat on our brow as ages 3 to 70 completed the trek, proving health to be a concern not limited by age. Exercise lowers blood pressure, reduces the risk of heart disease and diabetes, generates new neurons that greatly improve focus and memory, alleviates pain, and releases endorphins. So next time you’re feeling a bit sad, go for a walk and treat yourself to a big dose of happiness! It’s your human right!

Excited walkers exclaimed, “I’m feeling great!” after recharging with a nutritional cereal bar and water. “We already have over 5,000 steps with just the two of us!”

All participating families received a copy of the first book in the highly acclaimed graphic novel trilogy, March. “This is so great!” proclaimed a happy contestant. All families will log their steps with the goal of completing 300,000 this month. The challenge ends October 31, 2013. The grand prize for the Nintendo Wii will be held November 1, 2013.

Let’s walk!
