Afterschool Program

The 2016-2017 Kids Club Afterschool program is near completion at both Wakefield and Wilson Elementary. To celebrate, our children will be performing in the End-of-the-Year Kids’ Club Showcase!

The student will show all the many skills, knowledge, and talents they’ve acquired and perfected during the year. They are very excited about their achievements, and we know you will be, as well! If you would like to attend a showcase, they will be held on:

April 20, 2017
Wilson Elementary School

We are very proud of our students’ hard work, and our parents’ dedication, in making this program a success over the years. Did you know that this could potentially be this program’s last year?

Afterschool and summer programs across the country, such as Kids’ Club, are at risk of loosing their 21st Century Community Learning Center initiative funding. The final decision will be made Congress on April 28, 2017. This decision determines whether all afterschool and summer programs will remain open, have their services reduced, or close down altogether.

Thousands of working Arkansas families rely this initiative every year. If it is eliminated, over 12,000 Arkansas students will be voided a support that is so important to their futures. It is important that we let our voices be heard on this matter TODAY!

The UA Little Rock CI agency is asking that every parent, guardian, relative or friend of a student to reach out to our congressman, Rep. French Hill, and ask him to advocate for funding the 21st Century Community Learning Center initiative.
