Future Smiles Dental Clinic
The Future Smiles Dental clinic is the only school-based dental clinic in an Arkansas elementary school. The clinic provides comprehensive dental care to children on Medicaid or those without insurance in the partner elementary schools, regardless of their participation in Children International.
The clinic has three chairs and is coordinated by UALR Children International in partnership with the Dental Health Action Team. With outstanding partners and volunteers, the dental program is improving children’s health.

Over the past five years, here are the services provided:
- 25,947 dental screenings and toothbrush kits
- 3,340 children received 9,912 dental sealants
- 2,907 children received two fluoride varnish treatments
- 7,549 patient visits at the Future Smiles Dental Clinic
Services
Future Smiles is staffed by one dentist, a dental assistant, clinic manager and dental hygiene students from the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences. In partnership with Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH), the dentist works with the Future Smiles Clinic three days a week and two days at ACH. The clinic is open four days a week from 8-4 p.m., 11 months of the year. For questions, or to schedule an appointment, please call 501.447.6645.
