Co-op Works 2013
The UALR Cooperative Education Internship & Placement Office (formerly the Cooperative Education Program) is excited to celebrate its 20th anniversary this year!
A benefit to raise scholarship funds for deserving UALR students, “Co-op Works” is set for Thursday, October 24, 6:00 p.m. at the Governor’s Mansion Grand Hall.
The 2013 “Co-op Works” honoree is Mr. Jesse Mason. As founding director of the UALR Cooperative Education Program, Mr. Mason has been an extraordinary leader. As a result, the UALR Co-op Program has had 20 remarkable years of employer partnerships and student success with many students receiving fulltime jobs upon completion of their co-op experience. With a family heritage focused on service to the community and education, Mr. Mason and his wife, Gail Reede Jones, M.D., have made a financial commitment to create and fund the first endowed scholarship to benefit students participating in the UALR Cooperative Education Program.
In addition to his role as director of the Co-op Program, Mr. Mason serves as Vice Chair/Treasurer on the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport Commission and the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Repertory Theatre.
