Alumni Profile: Alexandra Antoine
When life hands you lemons, make lemonade. A lay off led to Alexandra Antoine’s decision to go to grad school. Now with diverse career options, she’s on a sales track at one of the top 10 Fortune 500 companies.
Antoine of Conway graduated in December 2009 with an MBA from UALR. While at UALR, she was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma honor society for academic excellence and Alpha Epsilon Lambda for demonstrated leadership.
Her efforts paid off with a position as Enterprise Services sales team lead at Hewlett-Packard Co. “The next logical career goal I have is to be in sales management, and following that, I would like to be a client sales executive,” she said.
“Dr. (Steve) Edison has mentored/coached me throughout my time here in helping me determine the path of my career. “
Giving back to the community that helps her make a living is important to Antoine. Antoine co-chairs a charitable giving committee to include organizing fundraisers and food drives at the Conway HP site. She also volunteers for the Conway Women’s Shelter, Community Action Program for Central Arkansas, and United Way.
Because she values what UALR has done for her, Antoine participates in the university’s recruiting events.
She holds a B.A. degree in economics from Hendrix College. Prior to HP, Antoine worked for AT&T Advertising and Publishing from 2006 to 2008. Her hobbies include hiking, canoeing, knitting, chess, and spending time with friends and family.
