Community Engagement

Welcome

In 2001, UALR established the Office of Community Engagement (OCE) to facilitate the building of partnerships between UALR faculty, staff, and students and the community in ways that will be mutually beneficial. OCE’s purpose is two-fold:

  • To help the community access the knowledge and intellectual capital on the UALR campus.
  • To support outreach as a critical component of UALR’s academic culture.

This mission is rooted in the vision that a metropolitan university such as UALR is an integral part of its region, working with its community to shape their joint future. OCE assists in stimulating UALR students to care deeply and passionately about the world around them and become leaders in the fields in which they choose to contribute.
