Setting Up Outlook 2000, XP and 2003

  1. Double-click on the Microsoft Outlook icon from the desktop
  2. Select the 'Tools' menu from the menu bar
  3. Select 'E-mail Accounts' from the 'Tools' menu
  4. A dialog box appears. Select 'Add a new e-mail account' and click 'Next'
  5. Select the radio button for 'IMAP' and click 'Next'
  6. Enter the following information in the appropriate location:
  7. Click the 'More Settings...' button
  8. You can set 'Reply E-mail' to some other email address if you wish - this will cause any replies to messages you send to go to the specified email address
  9. Click the 'Outgoing Server' tab
  10. Place a checkmark in the box for 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' and make sure 'Use same settings as my incoming mail server' is selected
  11. Click 'OK'
  12. Click "Next"
  13. Click "Finish"

Mail will be delivered to the Inbox located under imap.ualr.edu. To find this folder, you may have to select Folder List from the View menu.
