Setting Up Eudora in Windows

  1. Open Eudora
    (If this is the first time you have opened Eudora, a Wizard will walk you through the setup. You can use the information provided below to fill in the appropriate entries during these steps. Otherwise, follow these steps to connect to UALR's email server.)
  2. Click on the Tools menu and select Options
  3. Under the Category box on the left, click Getting Started. Enter your name in the Real Name box, imap.ualr.edu in the Mail Server box, and smtp.ualr.edu in the SMTP Server box. Ensure the check mark for Allow authenication is displayed
  4. Choose Checking Mail and enter the following:
    Mail Server - imap.ualr.edu, Login Name - your email username.
    Enter your preferences for the remaining items
  5. Scroll down in the Category list on the left and select Incoming Mail and enter the following:
    Server Configuration - IMAP, For new mail, download - Minimal headers only, When I delete a message - Move to: Trash, Authenication style - Passwords
  6. Choose Sending Mail. Perform the following:
    Return address - leave blank, Domain to add to unqualified addresses: - leave blank, SMTP server - smtp.ualr.edu. Place checkmarks in the remaining boxes
  7. All the other entries will be based on your personal preferences
