- Click on Start. Go to Control Panel.
- Click on Network and Internet Connections. Then, click on Phone and Modem
Options on the left side bar.
- The Phone and Modem Options Window will come up. Click on the Modems tab.
Then click on the Properties button.
- Click on the Modem tab. Set the Maximum Port Speed to 38400. Click OK to
close that window. Also click OK to close the Phone and Modem Options window.
- Now you’re back at the Network and Internet Connections control panel.
Click on Network Connections.
- On the following window, click Create a New Connection on the left side
bar.
- The wizard pops up. Click Next to continue.
- Select the top option, Connect to the Internet, then click Next.
- Choose Set up my connection manually from the list, and click Next.
- Choose Connect using a dial-up modem, then click Next.
- Type ‘UALR’ in the box for the ISP name, and click Next.
- Type in ‘515-6150’ for the phone number, click Next.
- Windows will ask who wants to use this connection. Choose Anyone’s use,
and click Next.
- Fill out the following screen with your email username and password and
check ‘make this the default connection, then click Next.

- Check the box to place an icon on the
desktop, then click Finish.
- A new window will pop up. This is the Connect
to UALR dial-up box. Click on the Properties button on this window.
- On the General tab of the window that pops
up, click the Configure button by the modem listed.
- Check all the boxes on the following window
and click OK.

Go to the Options tab
and configure the window as shown below.

Click OK to close
the UALR Properties window. You are now back at the dial-up connection
screen.

Click Dial to connect to
UALR.
