Fribourgh Event

The UALR College of Science and Mathematics’ second annual Fribourgh Award ceremony on March 31 at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion raised more than $25,000 for scholarships in math and science at UALR.

Proceeds from the event – with a record 12 sponsors (see below) and a record in ticket sales of about 250 – will help the college attract and retain high-achieving full-time students in science, mathematics, and health and wellness.

Jerry B. Adams, president and chief executive officer of the Arkansas Research Alliance, was the 2011 recipient of the James H. Fribourgh Award that recognizes contributions to Arkansas through the disciplines of health, mathematics, and science. Charles Morgan, former CEO of Axciom, issued the salute to Adams at the ceremony.

Professor Emeritus Fribourgh, the former science dean and interim chancellor for whom UALR’s Fribourgh Hall was named received the first Fribourgh Award last year and was recognized at the event. Chad Fitz, Acxiom vice president of Product Development, chaired this year’s awards program. See Chad Fitz KARK interview here….
