School of Social Work’s Nu Delta Wins a Second National Award

In early November, members of the CPS School of Social Work Phi Alpha chapter attended the Council on Social Work Education annual conference, and walked away with a prize of $250.00.  The chapter took first place in the national competitive poster competition with an entry called “Giving our Best”, focused on striving for excellence in service and academia.

Second year MSW student Sam Adkins gave a 5 minute presentation to accompany the poster, and students highlighted the many service activities their chapter had been involved in over the past year, including Race for the Cure, Holiday Toy Drive at Boone Park Elementary, Lobby Day at the State Capital, and Homeless Outreach.

Impressively, this is the second time in only two months that Nu Delta have been honored by Phi Alpha – in October they received the Phi Alpha annual service award, accompanied by a check for $500.
