Jeffery Walker


Dr. Jeffery Walker is a professor of Criminal Justice and Criminology in the Department of Criminal Justice at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock, where he has taught since 1990. He currently serves as the Department Chairperson.

Dr. Walker has written seven books and more than 50 journal articles and book chapters. He has obtained more than $9 million in grants from the Department of Justice, National Institute of Drug Abuse, and others. His areas of interest are social/environmental factors of crime and the study of non-linear dynamics as they relate to crime.

He is the past President of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. Editorial experience includes service as Editor of Journal of Criminal Justice Education, Journal of Critical Criminology, and Crime Patterns and Analysis. Previous publications include articles in the Justice Quarterly, Journal of Quantitative Criminology, Journal of Criminal Justice Education, Crime and Delinquency and the books Leading Cases in Law Enforcement (7th Edition), Statistics in Criminal Justice and Criminology: Analysis and Interpretation (3rd Edition) and Legal Guide for Law Enforcement (8th Edition).
