When buying a new computer, whether it be a laptop or a desktop, it is to your advantage to buy the most powerful system you can afford. This will allow the computer to have the longest life possible before upgrading or replacing, and to provide the best performance for the life of the computer.
The newest operating system, Windows Vista, which is just coming on the market in early 2007, requires at least 1 GB RAM, and 2 GB is recommended.
A 2 GB or faster processor is recommended in order to run the latest software.
Most hard drives in new computers will be at least 60 GB, and probably larger. We don’t recommend anything smaller. Keep in mind that images, movies, music, etc., require much hard drive space.
