Software Purchase Information
The Office of State Procurement requires software to be purchased through a mandatory contract with Software House International – SHI.
A list of software products:
Products: Adobe, Corel, IBM-Lenovo, Macromedia, Microsoft, Network Associates, Novell, Symantec, Trend Micro, and more
There are some products not on the contract.
Steps in ordering software:
1. Verify that the product(s) to purchase is ‘not’ on the SHI contract.
2. If the item(s) are on the contract then email Arkansas@shi.com for a quote but be sure to know the information required.
3. Information necessary for the quote before emailing: Quantity, media or license or both, and operating system: such as Mac or Windows.
4. If the product is an Adobe and/or Macromedia Product request in the email a quote for the UALR CLP* pricing.
5. After receiving the quote then forward to Purchasing with the requisition number on the quote or attached to the paper requisition.
*UALR entered into a contract in May of 2005 with Adobe for discount pricing. Adobe has since added to the contract the Macromedia products. SHI is the reseller for UALR Contract. When requesting a quote it is important to ask for the UALR CLP pricing. Otherwise, the quote will have the standard State TLP pricing and Purchasing will be required to ask for a new quote.
